Our world has many wonders but one of them was Him. The story I am about to tell is nothing you have experienced before. Have you ever imagined what would it be like if someone famous or really important came back to life, like nothing ever happened? This story tells the tale of this scenario.
You might ask who is this person? Who is this famous and original soul who has been known for His work, kind soul, moves which you have never seen before, the originality of Him, and His worldview that shattered the world after 17 years of His being dead. Who gave his heart and honesty, which was too pure and innocent for a world like this. This Man was the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Imagine this: you are soo excited about a man’s biopic that you go to another city just to watch his life being unfolded on the movie screen. You bring along your friends and family because there is no person on the planet who hears this voice or sees his clothes and can’t recognise Him.
You are traveling there by train, thrilled by the feeling that you will see this Legend again. Brought back to life just for this once. The road is filled with you dancing and humming His songs. The roads are empty, because the night’s cape just floated down from above. You feel that when you are walking in the big city towards the cinema that it’s empty. The quietness creeps you out. Surreal. But you know that you have many people around you, so nothing unusual can happen. Only the fog gives you goosebumps.
You are almost there. Just one corridor is between you and the tales of this wonder. This little road is short, but it feels long if you have to wait for something. Doesn’t it? The fog gets thicker and thicker; you aren’t really sure the direction you are taking is the right one or not. The quietness makes it even more of a struggle.
As you are walking unsure of the direction, you hear footsteps behind you. Not in the familiar rhythm of your friends around you. You stop just to check if it’s a burglar or not. You turn around frightened by the night and the dark. However, your group is not. Now turned, you hear the footsteps again; just now the sounds are coming behind you. From a distance you hear laughter-like sounds “He He. ” The group just laughs at you for being frightened. You brush it off but stay focused on the steps, which are getting louder and louder with each second. Meanwhile your group just keeps going, leaving you in the fog completely alone. Not sure what to do, you just keep spinning from one side to another. To be able to catch the thief who plays with you.
You just stand there waiting for your doom. Firm with your hands, knuckled up, waiting for the punch. You start to hear music you are too familiar with. The beats, out of stress or something, you just start to move towards the sound, stiffly but in the rhythm of the music. You get closer almost like a possessed corpse. You blink, and you are wearing that famous red jacket and red pants.
You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze
Nothing like this ever happened to you, just straight up unreal.
Cause this is thriller
Thriller night
And no one’s gonna save you
From the beast about to strike
You can see a shady figure, you can’t even look elsewhere. Locked on like a zombie. Your hands make the moves. Your body shivers as you involuntarily shift from position to position.
Then the fog starts to clear with the music being loud as it can be. Covering all other sounds. But somehow you hear the same number of footsteps as you make, being possessed by the Thriller. Right in front of you. Then you see it. The man who sang from a distance is before you. Just making the moves and singing as he did once. You can’t look away, just uncontrollably do his moves. Like a doll. As the mirror shows yourself in the morning. You are afraid, you can just question yourself “How can this be real?” “Am I dreaming?”. But you feel the cold air around you, the clothes that have magically appeared on your body. Then as you dance facing each other, you get closer and closer. Somehow you are next to Him. Dancing without knowing how to make the choreography.
As he sang the road began to rumble and those actors you saw in the music video when you were just a kid, appeared again beside you. Now with the steps of many people, somebody will notice, right? That this dead Man has come back to life.
The song will end soon. You know it. But you don’t want it to end.
Every good thing will end once….that’s the hard truth.
It does…you get the control back of your body. Being in control again. You try to ask Michael is he real? Is he really there? Or you have to wake up?
As he turns to answer you, you don’t notice that all the background dancers are gone. You are left alone again. Just Michael and you. He answers you by saying, “Yeah, I am Michael.”
You don’t even understand the situation looking at him, but then asking how he can be alive. Walking towards him in the clothes that resemble Him. The question you have to ask is, “Why is he here?” The answer couldn’t be purer or more loyal to him: “I believe music can change the world. Spread love, joy, and peace. That is what I want the world to feel… magic!”
As you can’t comprehend the answer but feel the kindness behind it, you turn around, wondering if somebody else can see this or not. Then as you look back to ask Michael again…. just as he appeared out of the blue, he disappeared, never to be seen again…..or until next time.
You notice that the clothes are still on you. Not caring where your other clothes are, joyfully but still amazed, you make your way into the cinema. But looking back where Michael has stood, you feel the magic he was talking about…
